Winter camps are week long programs that give students in disadvantaged areas a consolidated experience in improving their English through one-on-one tutoring by STEP volunteers. Working closely with the Boyo Social Welfare Foundation, STEP sends volunteers to rural areas served by the the foundation's teachers.
In the morning, the volunteers are first briefed on the learning level and background of the students they are assigned. After preparing the tutoring lessons, students spend the entire afternoon working with the children to help improve their English reading, writing, and speaking.
A lot shorter than the summer camps, the winter camps is designed to give volunteers experience in working with children from different cultural and educational backgrounds. For more information on the summer camps, click on the button below.
